1) worth形容词，意为“值得的”，只做表语，后常跟名词或代词做宾语。be worth doing意为“值得做某事”。

The book is worth reading. 这本书值得读。
2) even if意为“即使”，相当于even though，引导让步状语从句，不能和but连用。
Even if you don’t like reading, you’d better read this book. 即使你不喜欢阅读，你最好读这本书。
